Inside the Atelier: How a TomQ Bridal Couture Gown Is Made

Every TomQ Bridal gown begins as a sketch on Tom Nguyen's design table, long before it becomes a finished piece on the fitting room floor. Here's a glimpse into what happens in between.

From sketch to pattern

Once a design is finalised, our pattern makers translate it into a toile — a calico test version used to refine fit and proportion before a single piece of the final fabric is cut.

Hand-finishing details

Lace appliqué, boning, and beading are finished by hand — a single bodice can take dozens of hours of hand-sewing alone. This is what gives a couture gown its structure and longevity.

Quality checks

Every gown passes through multiple fit checks before it's ready for a bride's first fitting, ensuring the finished silhouette matches the original design intent.
